Austin PBS

An Iconic Institution

Britt Design Group transformed the new Austin PBS headquarters into a vibrant, hospitality-driven space that reflects the brand’s rich history of education and entertainment. Balancing the iconic Austin PBS and Austin City Limits brands, the design features moody yet welcoming interiors that are playful yet refined.

Custom furnishings, modular seating, and versatile millwork elements support a dynamic range of uses, from productions and fundraisers to rentable event spaces and everyday work. Thoughtfully reimagined areas like the green room, which doubles as a meeting and event space, and a flexible, multi-functional lobby embody the innovative spirit of Austin PBS.

Modular furniture allows for the lobby space to easily transition from everyday operations to an event venue.

With its comfortable yet stylish (and durable) furnishings, the Green Room is well-suited for anything from hosting VIP guests taping in Studio 6A, prepping for productions and events or even board meetings. It’s become a big draw for people interested in renting space and a favorite stop on the Austin PBS tour.

The custom record console includes brass hardware, Australian walnut exterior, burled maple interior, classic JBL brown foam grills, and Citrine Tonenhaus inlay - all hand selected by our design team and client.

These spaces are thoughtfully designed to be anything but standard, providing a distinct ambiance tailored to support a variety of moods and productions.

The archive room offers a beautiful functional space custom-designed to store Austin PBS’s immense, decades-long collection of media and memorabilia.
